Chapter six sees the boys making their way into Hitchin town centre for a bit of fun on the roofs of the shops and buildings. If you’re from Hitchin, you will know that the town centre has changed a great deal in the last twenty years or so. Obviously, you might say.
With the loss of shops like Woolworths and the record shop on Sun Street, a place I loved in my teens, and the replacing of them with coffee shops and cafes, it is totally different now as I walk down the town. Here’s a picture of Woollies for you.
